I have left for my great South American adventure and I have realized I want to stay connected with friends and family throughout my journey so they can share it with me and know that I am safe. I want them to enjoy the experience by following a social web page that allows them easy access, has an interactive map where I can upload photos, and they can make comment on my travels.
Google Plus is a social media page that allows the user to create a personal profile through a Gmail account to connect with friends, family, communities, and countless other social corporations and events. It also has the ability to use all of the different 'layers' that Google has to offer all through your personal social page.
Key features include:
- The ability to 'tag', 'like', and comment on photos and posts.
- It has standard social media settings which enables you to connect to friends and family easily.
- Easy access to all Google 'layers' such as Google maps, Google search engine, Google images, Blogger, Gmail, Google events, and Google communities.
- Ability to share photos, videos,and links to other websites and interests.
- Use of Google 'hangouts' (Video chat).
- Download the app or android onto you mobile phone for easy access
- You can access and publicize your blogs on you profile page if you are with Blogger.com.
- Add hyperlinks to your profile page
- It has a range of formatting tools to change fonts, styles, and colour schemes.
- Google map has interactive tools where you can track, make comment, add photo's, locate places of interest, and share with friends and family.

Google Plus is an appropriate social media page that I will use to connect to family and friends throughout my travels. It has all the necessary features including an interactive map so my family and friends can locate my whereabouts. It is easy to use and enables them to visually enjoy my travelling adventures at a click of a button.
